LATEST (19.12.2011) The latest studio album "Kotiteollisuus" has gone platinum. This is the second platinum disc for Kotiteollisuus, the last one was for "Helvetistä itään" in 2004. The next tour will start in March 2012, dates will follow soon, until that time the band is now taking a break. The next studio sessions are planned for spring / summer 2012 when the band should start recording a new covers album "Sotakoira II". Recording a proper studio album of new original material should start around autumn 2012. We wish everyone a merry christmas and a happy new year! NEW CD & VIDEO (1.11.2011) The expanded 2cd edition of "Kotiteollisuus" is out now including the new "Kalevan miekka" -ep of 4 new songs and 5 live tracks. The new 11th Kotiteollisuus studio effort, titled simply "Kotiteollisuus", was recorded in Kitee and mixed by Mikko Karmilan at Finnvox and Sonic Pump -studios in Helsinki. The recordings feature guest performances by Tuomas Holopainen, Miitri Aaltonen, Antti "Hyrde" Hyyrynen and Ismo Alanko who plays cello on one track. The first single from the album, ”Soitellen sotaan”, will be delivered to radio stations on 24th of January and the first batch of upcoming 2011 live dates will be made public on the same date. The new album will be released in March. NEWS ROUND-UP (4.1.2011) The new live dvd "Itärintama 2003-2010" released in November last year came in on the charts at #1 and after 5 weeks is still at #4. The band has finished recording a new studio cd, the disc is now being mixed and will be released in March 2011. And you can now follow Kotiteollisuus at Facebook (in Finnish). The disc will be included as a bonus on the limited edition cd of Killing Joke's new studio disc but will probably also be available separately. The band has been rehearsing and making demo recordings during June, there are now circa 20 new songs in the works some of which will eventually appear on the new Kotiteollisuus cd that will appear sometime during spring 2011. PICTURES (29.6.2010) Himosfestival 24.6.2010 WHAT*S GOING ON (16.5.2010) The band is currently in the process of writing new material, hence the lack of live dates. The schedule at the moment is to record a demo in September and go in the studio in October but everything is still at planning stage. Kotiteollisuus has already recorded one studio track earlier this year, a cover of "Pandemonium" by Killing Joke for possible use on an upcoming Killing Joke tribute-cd but but no release date has been set yet.
